Prescription Verification

For U.S. Customers Only

Genteye follows applicable U.S. contact lens prescription verification requirements for orders shipped to customers in the United States.

Under the Fairness to Contact Lens Consumers Act (FCLCA) and the FTC Contact Lens Rule, contact lenses may be dispensed only in accordance with a valid, unexpired contact lens prescription. If a complete prescription is not provided at checkout, we may request verification from your prescriber before fulfilling the order.

How Verification Works

After an order is placed, customers may be asked to provide their contact lens prescription details and the prescriber’s contact information. We then send a verification request to the eye care professional.

If the prescriber does not respond within the time permitted under the applicable rule after receiving a complete verification request, verification may be completed through passive verification and the order may proceed where permitted. The applicable business-hour calculation follows the relevant U.S. rule and the prescriber’s local time zone.

What We May Send for Verification

A verification request may include information such as:

Customer full name and address

Lens parameters, including power, brand, base curve, and diameter where applicable

Quantity ordered

Date of customer request

Date and time of the verification request

Step 1: Submit Your Prescription

To help avoid delays, customers are encouraged to submit a clear photo or scan of their valid contact lens prescription:

When creating a Genteye account

During checkout or in the cart

By email to support@genteye.com, together with the full name and order number

The prescription provided must be valid, unexpired, and consistent with the lenses ordered.

Step 2: Provide Prescriber Information

Customers may also provide the prescriber’s name and contact information, including phone number and/or email address, so that verification can be requested directly.

If no response is received within the time permitted after the prescriber receives a complete request, the order may proceed through passive verification where allowed under applicable requirements.

If You Do Not Have a Contact Lens Prescription

A valid contact lens prescription is required for contact lens purchases in the United States. If you do not have one, please obtain a contact lens exam and fitting from a licensed eye care professional before placing or completing your order.

Customer Responsibility

Customers are responsible for ensuring that the prescription and prescriber information provided are accurate, valid, and applicable to the lenses ordered.

If a valid prescription cannot be confirmed where required, the order may be placed on hold, canceled, or otherwise delayed until the necessary information is received.
